Notes


  • In English we say half past the hour as in "half [past] two," but when Germany say "halb zwei" they mean one - thirty( half to the hour of two o' clock).


  • The German for am is either morgans or vormittags( as in "Est ist acht Uhr morgens"), and pm is either nachmittags or abends( as in "Es ist Neun Uhr abends"):
